Finchley Court is a fully accredited low-care nursing home, providing high-quality 24-hour care and assistance for our residents. With a nurse call bell for 24-hour assistance in every room and all communal areas, our residents and their families can be secure knowing their loved ones are comfortable, happy and safe, and looked after with personalised care.
Care and health services
Our residents receive the personalised care and assistance they need with their daily routines and health, including mobility assistance and secure medication supervision and management. We help our residents with showering, dressing and personal hygiene. All medication is administered and supervised by trained staff in accordance with professional medical instructions.
Our regular visiting GP is available for all residents, and we arrange nursing services as required. We are very happy to help residents make appointments with their own GP, or arrange for their GP to visit them at Finchley Court. We also arrange annual onsite eye, hearing, dental and podiatry check-ups, with offsite clinic treatment available as needed (all usually bulk-billed, so there's no extra charge for our residents).
Our residents' rooms
Our residents' bedrooms are spacious and fully furnished with a comfortable bed, wardrobe, arm chair and a variety of other furnishings. Each bedroom has its own private ensuite bathroom. Rooms are cleaned daily, and we provide weekly laundry services for clothes, towels and linen. Each room also has its own telephone and TV connection points.
Meals and nutrition
Meals and nutrition are always an important focus for us and for our residents. We provide three main meals each day as well as morning tea, afternoon tea and supper. Our meals are cooked daily onsite by our chef and are nutritious and well-balanced, including vegetarian options, salads and fresh fruit. Our meals are varied and plentiful, and we can cater for most special dietary requirements.
Meals are served in the communal dining area to encourage conversation and communal living — though residents are always welcome to eat in their rooms if they prefer. Visitors are always welcome to join us for a meal. We celebrate birthdays and other special occasions with celebratory meals throughout the year, and enjoy regular summer BBQ lunches at local parks and offsite restaurant lunches every couple of months.
